Prospect Free WiFi
City of Prospect launched its Free WiFi network in the Prospect Road Village Heart area (from Rose St / Labrina Ave in the South to Gladstone Rd / Alpha Rd in the North) at the Touriffic Street Party on 17 January 2017.
Browse the web, check your emails and watch streaming videos, check-in for work or business meetings in one of our cafes with free WiFi each day between 7am and 12am.
Prospect Free WiFi is part of Council’s Digital Economy Strategy to boost local business.
Osaka, New York, Barcelona, Singapore, Perth and Adelaide all have free WiFi and high speed internet to the public. Prospect’s download capability is one of the fastest public WiFi systems in the world with average upload and download speeds of up to 100 Mbps.
The service is accessible at street level but no guarantees are provided as to coverage inside shops and premises. The WiFi Service is for casual use by residents and visitors, it is not intended for use by business operators as a substitute for their own day-to-day retail business or office needs.Terms and Conditions

WiFi – Boosting Local Businesses
Research has shown that free WiFi helps to boost local economies, with:
- Increased visitation by residents, shoppers, professionals and tourists to local businesses
- Professional and home-based businesses meeting in our Broadband Cafés
- New bricks and mortar businesses attracted to the area and creating jobs.
