Activation with Art in Prospect

with Steve Maras, Grace Coy, and Matt Stuckey

Are you a local property or business owner? Are you a street artist seeking connections with interested property owners?

Mural art can activate and transform streetscapes to create vibrant places. This session will explore how art can benefit City of Prospect businesses and promote the Prospect brand as a destination.

This workshop will cover:
– explore activation options through art and events
– learn from success stories and local case studies
– interactive brainstorming activity

Guest Presenter: Steve Maras, Maras Group

Steve is the Group Managing Director and CEO of commercial and retail property investment and development group, Maras Group, and has been profoundly involved in the development of several Mainstreet properties, with a particular focus on Rundle Street East and Prospect Road. With a background in economics, commerce and property, Steve has an overt passion for Mainstreets and urban environments which enhance a sense of place and community.

Guest Presenter: Matt Stuckey, Artist

Matt Stuckey is an interdisciplinary designer whose wildly varied work includes branding, advertising, interior design and most recently user experience design – but he is probably best known for his large scale artworks across Adelaide city. Matt believes passionately that creativity plays a vital role in developing happy, healthy and prosperous communities. Matt is currently the Director of User Experience at Makers Empire.

Guest Presenter: Grace Coy, Art Walk; Community Events Coordinator

Grace is the founder and curator of Adelaide Art Walks, which are interactive exhibition events. Audiences follow an illustrated map to discover art in unconventional gallery spaces. Adelaide Art Walks began in 2015 with two ticketed events on Melbourne Street and Hindley Street West. Audiences collect a map and a glass of wine, then visit over 10 venues to meet and greet the artists, buy artworks, enjoy live music, interactive activities and finish up with a party at the final location. Adelaide Art Walks sold over 650 tickets over 6 events, involved more than 40 artists, 30 businesses, 10 local musicians, and countless pieces of artwork. Grace has since worked on events such as SANTOS Tour Down Under, Tasting Australia, Adelaide Festival and now works in the events team at City of Prospect.
